We are proud of our town it offers many unrivalled attractions: the beautiful, unspoilt countryside ideal for walking, pony trekking and mountain biking; leisure and sporting pursuits, including fishing in the renowned Wye and Irfon Rivers; a golf course and sports centre providing a wide range of facilities. Along the River Wye you can play tennis, use the dog free children's area or walk or cycle along safe footpaths. In the evenings you can take in a live show, a film or a satellite live performance at the Wyeside Arts Centre.
Our town hosts the prestigious Royal Welsh Show that takes place in July and attracts 245,000 people to our town. There are also other interesting events held at The Showground throughout the year - pony and horse events; dog shows; farming events and two antique and collectors fairs.
